About Lodestone Investigations
David Gillett JP BEng(Hons) is Lodestone Investigations’ Principal Investigator.
David has a law enforcement background, having spent a decade of service as a Constable in the British Police Force, where he gained three Commendations, two Commendations were for Bravery in the execution of his duty and a further Commendation for Diligence to his work. Whilst in the Police Force he completed many specialist courses and worked extensively in various specialist departments including criminal investigations, special enquiry unit, beat crimes, traffic and as a trainer. A 5th Dan Black Belt in Judo, David was also a Physical Training Instructor (PTI) and instructed on Unarmed Defensive Tactics (police self defence), handcuffing and baton training including the PR-24 side handled baton, extendable baton and ASP baton.
In 1997 he moved into the corporate field, undertaking insurance investigations, private surveillance, private security and gained an Engineering Management Honours Degree at University before taking up senior management positions in the Fitness Industry and in governance at National Sports level before moving to Australia.
In 2005 David took up National Sports level positions as a State Manager for University Sports and became a Director of the Judo Federation of Australia (NSW) and a National Officer for Member Protection with Judo Federation of Australia. In 2010 David became a Local Government Officer where whilst he managed many road engineering projects, became the Chief Fire Warden maintaining safety and security, and was a department Work Health and Safety Representative.
In 2024 David started Lodestone Investigations. David is not only a qualified and licenced Private Investigator with Certificate (III) in Investigative Services and NSW Security Operative Licence S00008354 and the holder of a NSW Master License 000109031. David is also the holder of an Advanced Diploma in Government together with a Certificate (IV) in Government Investigations.
David’s 3 decades of combined police, government and private investigation experience has made him ideally placed, both experienced and qualified, for any and all Government and Private enquiry work.
He is also the holder of Class 2B & 2C licences as a Security Seller and Security Specialist Equipment Installer as well as a licenced Open Cabler.
